“A deed that exists for the sake of recognition is not for God, it’s for you.” – Adele Calhoun in her book, SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES HANDBOOK under the chapter called “Secrecy”.

True.  And convicting, for Christians. Jesus taught about this too, in the Gospels.  That’s where Calhoun gets it from.  I am learning SO much from reading this book!  Had never thought about the concept of “secrecy” (although I would prefer to coin the word “hiddenness” for this, rather than “secrecy”) as a spiritual discipline!
